This was a three city workshop series on Documentary Theatre facilitated by Anuja Ghosalkar across India. The aim was to introduce tools and methods of Documentary Theatre to encourage fresh new idioms in performance making.

It incubated ideas and modalities for the international workshops that followed in 2019. It was a bedrock for audience engagement, outreach, discourse building, and solicited practitioners from varied fields–who are part of the community that resolutely engage with Documentary Theatre in India today.

The focus of this workshop series was interdisciplinary and invited documents, as defined expansively—memory, metaphor, gesture, sound, media. It provoked the participants with the question “what happens when fictional worlds collide with seemingly real ones in performance making?”
